Ackley World Wednesday, July 16, 1902

"After an illness that had extended through many months, during which both family and friends experienced both hope and despair, ultimately, Mrs.  Louis Belzer gave up the struggle at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kienesberger, Tuesday afternoon.

The family left here several years ago, removing to Colorado,  hoping that the change of climate would be beneficial to her, but it was tp no purpose, she returned her several months ago.  The kindly ministries of relatives, the presence of those near an dear to her cheered her, but the efforts of love and devotion were of no avail.  Her death occurred at almost four o'clock.

Mrs. Belzer was 53 years of age.  The funeral is to be held at the Evangelical church eight miles north of Ackley, tomorrow, (Thursday) at 1:00 o'clock.  Rev. Hahn will officiate."

Louis Belzer, age 57, married Mrs. S.A. Frost, 48 in Wray December 31, 1903. Judge James Hendrie performed the ceremony.

January 8, 1904 "Well ! Well ! who next ?  Uncle Louis Belzer has taken to himself a better half.  Ask him what the Hayseeds gave him for a wedding present."

John Sass, his pastor, conducted the services at Charles City, and the undersigned spoke in German and English in our church at Ackley, Iowa, assisted by Rev. F. Bruns, our pastor there. His remains were laid to rest in the Ackley cemetery, where they remain until that bright day when all his saints shall hear the voice of the son of God to
